I have known and worked with Harold and Euan “The Fools Puppet Theatre Company” for many years as besides running events in their own right (they are a puppet company after all) they are valued members of “The Companye of Merrie Folke”. Euan is a talented musician and a gifted story teller, while Harold is a great designer, maker and animator of the various characters she creates.
The period-style puppet shows they regularly perform, appeal to both the young and not so young. Indeed I often watch the audiences during their shows and always see row upon row of rapt and smiling faces.
Euan’s unique delivery never fails to amuse and Harold’s sometimes unruly puppets are always well received with laughter and applause.
Perhaps the greatest compliment I can pay these two talented people, is that however many times they perform one of their self-written plays, they are always as fresh as the first time they perform them. In all honesty I cannot count the number of times I have seen “The Grayte Wyrm”, and “The Leg End of the Magpie” yet I never tire of them.
They also offer period dance sessions which everyone loves, as they are so simple to do and if you get it wrong – nobody cares.
I await with great excitement seeing their latest offering “Nob and the Frog”, when next we are together. If you are considering hiring them for your next period event, party (children’s or otherwise) or other special occasion, I assure you you will not be disappointed.
